I love wearing dark makeup, but I don't like when it looks too heavy. I want to darken and define my features, but not look like i put on too much.

Hey! This might sound like a lot, but it's really not! It only takes like 5 minutes to do so you won't be spending a ton of time on it, and it looks really good! Apply your foundation to even out your skin tone, apply your blush on the apples of your cheeks (go with a neutral color, I think Covergirl actually makes one in a black case thats called natural or something). Apply a sand (that's a shimmery white) color eyeshadow to your brow bone, the inner corner of your eye, and the top of your cheekbone. Apply your eyeliner (top %26amp; bottom...go with a thin line close to your lash line so it doesn't appear heavy), curl your lashes and then do your mascara, apply some lip gloss and you're done! Practice the night before or something just to make sure you have the hang of it, but like I said, it's really easy. Hope this helps out! put on a light eyeshadow, and some light lip gloss. If you want to, apply blush and mascara, but don't make it heavy. Only put on about 1 coat..
The key to great make up is to make it look natural. I have found using very little enhances what god gave you and just makes you glow. Heavy make up looks phony on every one and has to be touched up all day long. I go natural most all the time and when I do use any make up its light and barely colored (eye shadow and lipstick) a little blush just makes you look sun kissed. Try keeping it light you won't be sorry. Good luck!

(For example, if you are blonde haired, and blue eyed, dont be afraid of golds, pinks, greens, cream colors, etc...). For green eyes, use golds, browns, pinks, and believe it or not, subtle blues. If you are dark skinned, you are lucky, because any color will look fabulous on you. Don't over do one color, try blending a darker color in the outside corners of your eyes to create a dramatic, but pretty effect. Also, liquid eye shadows are the best for your dollar. Well, I have a schoolmate who use heavy makeup everyday as if she's going to a photoshoot. I'm not sure why but maybe to avoid re-application of makeup. Can't give a good example because I always think about that classmate of mine, lol. But anyways, I think one is eye makeup. Some girls tend to put too much eye makeup like smokey eyes that just hide their pretty eyes.... like my schoolmate lol lol. The eyes should stand out especially when making a conversation, not the makeup. Less is more.

MAC you guys thinking exactly what I was thinking. Their makeup looks like it's in layers, and sometimes their eye makeup is so heavy they look like raccoons.
i think its the mac people. no offense though i would love to work a t a makeup counter to learn stuff and get freebies and discounts. the people who work there get too technical so they have to go through all the steps of makeup like primer, foundation, concealer, highlight etc. they don't put makeup on like consumers do, which is usually ignore a lot of steps. professional makeup artists usually put on a lot (themselves and clients) for some reason.maybe they are tring to wear the whole product line so that they can save the sales talk...lol

Quick question. Do men prefer heavy, light, or no makeup?Do Men Prefer Heavy or Natural Makeup?
I am lucky because my beautiful woman looks good always with a little a lot or even no makeup at all. She is a natural beauty that happens to know how to accentuate her beauty with the way she applies her makeup. So I would say this question really belongs to the lady themselves do they prefer heavy or natural make and what makes them feel most comfortable.Do Men Prefer Heavy or Natural Makeup?
The majority of guys honestly like women with little to no makeup.
Some guys can't even tell the difference, guys pay attention to other things, they aren't worried about your makeup.
As long as you have good hygiene and nice hair and whatnot, they really could care less if your eye shadow goes with your outfit and all that jazz that we girls worry about.
I think it depends on the person wearing the makeup and how they apply it because I see so many girl with just globs af crap on their face that doesn't compliment anything, I think these girls are the reason guys are like NO MAKEUP..also they think its gross to have it rub off on them..I actually look better with less because of my skin tone and features but some people are just naturally REALLY good with makeup and its almost like an art! SO I think both have their place...I rarely see a woman who looks good with NO makeup..we all need a lil boost sometimes..
I used to wear crazy Divine style dragqueen makeup and my husband didn't really like it. I don't like wearing natural subtle makeup. I'm an all or nothing kind of person. My husband much prefers me makeup-less and I'm fine with that as I look like I'm wearing makeup when I'm not (blessed with a good complexion)
Its not what you wear, it is how much you wear, you can wear all the makeup you mentioned, as long as you don't look like Mime from the drew carey show.
you should wear an good amount of make up but keep it looking fresh and natural so everyone thinks that your barely wearing any...thats what i do and i get compliments on how young fresh and beautiful i look =]

Maybe somewhere in the middle is best. That way, the girl gets to put makeup on and boys can put up with a little bit!
