Why does heavy makeup look good on celebritys but when us regular people put it on we look like clowns?

I know this is probably a stupid question 2 ask but its so wierd cus il b watching americas nxt top model and i love their makeup but it jst dosnt look good on regular everyday people. We jst look like we came out of the circus. Lol. I was jst bored so i figured i wld ask this stupid question.Why does heavy makeup look good on celebritys but when us regular people put it on we look like clowns?

we aren't makeup artist! celebrities have their own makeup crew...
where your on TV you need a lot of makeup to look perfect on camera


on ANTM they have pro artists applying it
i think if u can do really good makeup on ur own u can make it look good uk..like they have makeup artists and such, and airbrush crap =P... im sure if we all had personal stylists wed all look as good as celebs loll

One reason is that pros are doing it. If you don't have a whole lot of experience, you might be too heavy handed with your application of the makeup.





Another reason is that heavy makeup looks better on film (video or photos) than in real life. If you ever get your makeup professionally done for prom or a wedding, it will look like almost too much in person, but it will look great in photos.
